What this calculator does
At 300 DPI, every 300 pixels represents one inch of print length. The chart uses exact mathematical conversion and does not include bleed, borders, or printer-specific recommendations.
300 DPI formula
Print inches = pixels ÷ 300Centimeters = inches × 2.54Worked examples
3600 × 2400 pixels
At 300 DPI, the exact print size is 12 × 8 inches.
6000 × 4000 pixels
At 300 DPI, the exact print size is 20 × 13.33 inches.
Frequently asked questions
Is every value in the chart exactly 300 DPI?
Yes. Each physical dimension is the corresponding pixel dimension divided by 300.
Does the chart include printer bleed?
No. Add the print provider’s required bleed to your physical target before calculating the file dimensions.
Can I print larger than the chart size?
Yes, at a lower effective DPI. Whether it looks acceptable depends on viewing distance, source quality, and the print process.
Why are some sizes not standard paper dimensions?
The chart preserves the image’s original aspect ratio. Standard paper may require cropping, borders, or a different file ratio.
